Isn't it the time that Persians trash Islam?!

Iran's religious media which have close ties with the government are hugely criticizing the cinema star Niki Karimi because of giving a hug to Ezatollah Entezami, age 88, and a celebrated figure of contemporary Persian cinema.
Isn't it really the time that Iranians trash Islam? although many of them have already done that !

Dutch Immigration Office is going to deport Bardia Taherpur to Tehran!

Taherpur @ Prince Reza Pahlavi meeting in The Hague, May 2012 (Photo: Persian Dutch Network)

Dutch Immigration Office (IND) has decided to deport Bardia (Mojtaba) Taherpur to Tehran! a surprising act.
Bardia is quite well-known by the Iranian authorities. He has participated in most of anti-Islamic Republic demonstrations in The Netherlands and also converted to Zoroastriasim (national religion of Persia before Islam) in a ceremony in Leiden:
I have seen many people who has not ANY political background but IND has accepted their fabricated cases but such READ political activists are treated like this!
Isn't it the time that IND revises its policies and advisors?!

Open Letter of 100 Dutch Persians on the critical situation of RADIO ZAMANEH

100 Dutch Persians have signed an open letter to Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs about the critical situation at Radio Zamaneh. The station is funded by the Dutch government.

The open letter which has been sent to the Dutch media as well seeks the minister Uri Rosenthal to pay attention to the situation of Radio Zamaneh; a Persian-language radio/website that was founded in 2006.

The letter has been published in both Dutch and Persian. Below is its English translation:
_________________

We, the undersiging, are 100 Dutch cizitens of Persian origin. We would like to express our concern about the non-professional attitute of the current director of Radio Zamaneh, the Persian-language radio station in Amsterdam which is funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since his appointment as the director of Radio Zamaneh has Mr. Arjen de Wolff  had a quite negative effect on the content of this media and the editorial team. He also has attended the meetings which are related to groups who are acting against the national interests of Iran's people; among them separatists groups related to the Republic of Azerbaijn who believe Azerbaijn Province of Iran should be separated from Iran.

People of Iran are fighting for freedom and their basic rights, but they do not support any kind of such movements against their national interest.

The Persian (Iranian) coomunity in The Netherlands is proud of having a Persian-lanague radio station in the country. Radio Zamaneh has played a key role in supporting civil society movements and media diversity in Iran but just few months after directorship of Mr De Wolff, Radio Zamaneh popularity has been hugely reduced:

The radio's editor-in-chief, Mr Farid Haerinejad, has resigned from his job because of Mr. De Wolff's behavior; a senior producer of radio, Mr. Pejman Akbarzadeh, is in danger of dismisal because of his resistence against Mr. De Wolff and also one of the online editors, Ms. Asieh Amini has resigned because of the unprofessional bahavior at the station. The current newsroom members in Amsterdam are a small group of amateurs.

We would like to ask you to pay attention to this critical situation at Radio Zamaneh. We believe by rewarding Mr De Wolff a cinsiderable salary and as result the briefly above-mentioned  negative effects,  is a waste of money paid by the Dutch tax payers.

Thanks for your consideration.

Regards,

Undersiged:

"Yashar ZAMANEH"; Radio Netherlands' Goof !

Radio Netherlands Worldwide has just published a piece on the situation of Yashar Khameneh; a young student from Iran whose father has been detained in Tehran.

The interesting point is that RNW has interviewed Yashar for this article but still does not know what is his last name!

Radio Natherlands Worldwide has introduced Yashar as Yashar Zamaneh! and actually Zamaneh is an Amsterdam-based Persian radio station! :)

Do Not Speak Persian because of Apple Racism!

19-year-old Sahar Sabet says an Apple Store in Georgia refused to sell her an iPad after a store representative overheard her speaking in Persian.
"Very hurtful, very embarrassing. I actually walked out in tears," Sabet told WSBTV about her experience.
According to Yahoo News: "When a reporter from the station returned to the same Apple Store with Sabet, the employee once again reiterated that it is Apple company policy to not sell products to anyone from Iran. The WSBTV reporter recorded video of the exchange on her phone."
Sabet is a U.S. citizen and a student at the University of Georgia.

One of the most ridiculous decisions by European Commission

Since last week I am reading everyday in social networks about one of the most ridiculous decisions by European Commission:
Suspending the residence permit approval of Iranian skilled migrants in Europe!
and The Netherlands has been a pioneer to keep Persian applications on hold.

Many times and specially since 2009 pro-democracy movement of Iranian people we have heard from EU politicians that Iran's people is separated from Iran's government and they should be supported through social, cultural and academic exchanges. Now it's a sign! EU has targeted the Persians directly, rather than the Islamic regime in Tehran.

Yesterday I read about the story on Persian Dutch Network and today a short piece has been published in Dutch daily NRC (12 June 2012).
Iranian community has been among the most successful migrant groups in integration to Dutch society. Now they are paying its price!

Finally Pres. Obama did something intellectual !

Although the US society is quite close and religious, Pres. Obama finally did something intellectual !

He supported the same-sex cuoples marriage and offering the equal rights to them.

BUT PLEASE DO NOT FORGET !

Gays and lesbians still can be executed in few countries. In the modern world it's the most ridiculous thing that people have their rights based on their sexuality, religion, race, language... Anway Welcome US to the modern World !

Watching Iran Air and missing Tehran...

I am @ Schiphol and seeing an Iran Air aircraft from the airport balcony.

I always hated the Iranian government but always loved Iran Air!

I have missed seating in an Iran Air aircraft and flying to Tehran; an airline which was called the "fastest growing airline" in the world in 1970s.

Sad days for all of us...

Iranians portrayed as 9/11 terrorists in "Flight 93"

I am watching the American movie "Flight 93", directed by Peter Markle. It's about 9/11 events.

In the hijacked plane, one of the passengers calls home and tells his wife: "The hijackers look like Iranians"!! but actually NO IRANIAN WAS INVOLVED IN 9/11 attacks.

The director/producers should be ashamed. Poor Persians! millions of them escaped to the West after 1979 Islamic Revolution. Because their homeland has been hijacked by Mullas but even in exile they are portrayed as terrorist!

Just watched the moving film "Saving Face" (Oscar winner) in The Hague.
The documentary focuses on the women's life who have been the victims of acid attacks in Pakistan...
Quite difficult to watch parts of the film but world should know about that.
